Inspiration

Finished Bloom this week & wow, Kelle is a beautiful writer. Honest, raw, vivid, challenging. A great read!
Ditto, Kelle. Ditto.

Excited to do this as I take off on a plane to new adventures & horizons.

My latest read: The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. So profound. So moving. SO good.

What are you going to do with this one wild and precious life? [Full poem from Mary Oliver found here]

Cross 'em off the list!

Remember the list I told you about? My Denver 2012 list! Well, I've crossed a few more things off and enjoyed them all! Here are my most recent accomplishments:

In the spirit of making lists, I also made a "To Craft List 2012" so I can keep track of all the projects I want to get done. Here are some finished specimens:
A pouch for the chess pieces: (same fabric I used for this project)
A summery tote bag:

His & her passport covers. So excited to use these this weekend! El Caribe, here we come!
Many more projects to come!

Color Block Painted Glass Bottle Tutorial

For this color block inspired DIY I used some Martha Stewart paints for the first time and made a snazzy painted bottle for under $10!

SLOM bottle with stopper from Ikea, $3.99
+ Masking tape (free, had it on hand)
+ Paintbrush (free)
+ Martha Stewart paints ($1.99 x 3 = $5.97)
=  $9.96 + tons of paint left over for other projects

Tape, paint, peel. Repeat.

Lately

Friday Family time during Lent: FISH
Found these lovely shoes. They were a bit too small, so I used the fill  shoes with a bag of water & freeze idea to stretch.
It worked a bit, only the bag popped while freezing & the shoes came out solid blocks of ice. HA!
Pork chops with yellow peppers & good company at a small table.
Neon dyed Easter eggs!
Sweets! This cherry chip cupcake was my first indulgence after giving up sweets for Lent.
Easter glow. Beautiful weather!
Easter dress picture + floating orb between us.
Sassy Hunter sticking his tongue out!

Easter was wonderful. Mass at the Basilica, breakfast + chess, baked brie, family time (total head count, 41 people & 2 dogs), & Life the bored board game.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, remember the party is still going! Happy Easter Monday!
