Back to School

Wait? It's summer? Back to school! We just celebrated getting out of school!

Not me! Getting back to school is actually a celebration for me. See I graduated in 2010 & with two almost-made-it-to-med-school attempts under my belt, I'm taking some more classes to broaden my biology experience.

My first lab was yesterday for anatomy & physiology. And in just one session I learned nearly all the bones and structures in the skull. Holla!

Fresh office supplies make me giddy. Fresh notebooks waiting to be filled. Fresh pens ready to write and doodle. Binders for organizing, books for reading. It just brings back so many good memories from studying in college.

There are few things more fulfilling than learning!
What are you excited about this summer?

Recent Reads

Oh how I love the library. Oh how I love books! One of the items on my Denver/Summer 2012 list is to "sun tan at a park with a book." With our monthly book club meeting tonight, I figured I'd make this post book themed.

Have I told you about goodreads before? Well, I pretty much love that site. I joined a group called "Coffee & Books" because well I am a lover of both! I was tired of looking at the best seller lists to pick my next read, and this group has a list of books for the month. Some are oldies (The Bell Jar), and some have become my newest favorites (Atonement, The Perks of Being a Wallflower).

My 2012 Challenge is to read 45 books. I'm 18 books in & on track to meet my goal!

Here's what I've been reading:

Anticipated next read (hoping this becomes available at the library soon):
Bibliophile? Summer reader? Come join me!
Read any good ones lately?

Be Kind to Yourself

Well that was an unexpectedly long hiatus! Hello friends! I am back. My interview was mediocre (a very dull faculty member interviewed me), but that's okay. I have a different interview two days before Thanksgiving & this time I'm off to Philadelphia! Omaha was superb (I LOVE THIS CITY). Visited a great friend, went on adventures for coffee & old books. I am so thankful for wonderful friends like Hilary. We might not see each other for long stretches of time, but we pick up right where we left off,  & that is something so precious.

The beautiful memories & aromas of my favorite coffee joint, Aroma's.
Hilary in a loved ugly chair.
Princess Tari herself on a beautiful quilt.

Hilary's picturesque notes. I thought it was so endearing that she spilled coffee on them. Love it.

Ahh, the psychology section. Smiles.

AND I've been in the process of moving. YAY. Here is the MAJOR work in progress apartment. It's a studio, so these pictures are of my room, living room, craft room & office, all wrapped up in a cute little package. More updates & pictures to come.

The office, rocking some high speed Internet courtesy of CenturyLink.
The proverbial color-coded closet. More organization to come!
And the area that needs the most love & attention: my crafting area. So much potential!
More unpacking and organizing (+ more trips to IKEA) in the forecast, along with some fun fall activities (like going on a walk in snazzy boots with hot apple cider in hand to look at the fall leaves and crunch the fallen beauties as you walk).

 Love to you all!
